NBBJ Architecture New Hire Announcement Sleeve
Designed as a mailer to promote newly hired talent. The sleeve allowed full creative flexibility for the insert.
Using a huge, 2 panel blind emboss, the design provides a tactile experience using the architectural drawing of an NBBJ project.
In a subtle call and response style (before accessing the insert), the language is deliberately ambiguous as it references design, and the future. Design the future? The design future?
A one color print, additional shapes in the metallic ink are brought out using half-tones.
Which Design Principles?
Among several universal design principles, we took advantage of the Von Restorff Effect1, an aspect of memory that asserts: when expectations are defied (such as an unusual presentation), something is more likely to be recalled.

Retirement Party Invitation
This one color design celebrated a principal at NBBJ Architecture, and featured a flood of color on the reverse, and a translucent envelope.
